Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for maintaining normal brain function, but the extent to which the Omega-3s we consume reach and benefit the brain remains uncertain. Research in animal models has shown that specific genes, such as the APOEĈ4 gene, may regulate how effectively Omega-3s are delivered to the brain. The Omega-3 Brain Study was designed to investigate this process more closely by measuring Omega-3 levels in the brain by analyzing participants’ cerebrospinal fluid and blood samples.
