Dr. Pappas obtained his doctorate in clinical neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, UK. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship training in neuroimaging at Berkeley and now he is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the University of Southern California. His expertise is in brain imaging with the purpose of identifying markers sensitive to brain pathology. This work includes functional and structural MRI as well as amyloid and tau PET imaging. Currently his lab is examining network integrity in older adults at the preclinical stages of dementia and Down syndrome. The lab also examines genetic and race/ethnicity factors that can influence individual cognitive decline trajectories.
